Use hemp mat

The hemp mat is used in the top tray. When the worms are fed, the hemp mat is lifted and the new food ends up under the mat. after feeding, the mat comes back on top of the fresh material.

Do you suffer from fruit flies or do the worms crawl out of the worm bin? This is large and can be partly remedied with a hemp mat.

When you give fresh food to the worms, you usually cannot avoid that fruit flies also end up in the worm bin. When hemp is placed mat over the food, the air can still pass through it well, but the fruit flies cannot. In this way, the present fruit flies cannot reach the fresh food and can therefore not lay eggs. As a result, the population of fruit flies is slowly declining.

1. Place the hemp mat in the top tray, on top of the fresh organic material.
2. Lift the mat to feed the worms.
3. Place the mat back on top of the fresh food after feeding.
