Summer carrot 'Nantes 2' has a sweet taste and a nice cylindrical root shape. With a wider planting distance, the roots become somewhat thicker.

Sow the seeds directly into the soil. Best on elevated ridges. Make sure the soil is nicely loosened. The finer the soil, the better the root can grow straight and long. Maintain a row spacing of 20 cm. You sow the seeds in rows between your fingers. When the plants are thinned out to a planting distance of 20x3 cm. solution of the removed root thickness, a wider or closer planting distance can also be maintained. With a wider planting distance between the roots, the roots will grow faster and the roots will have more room to grow into thicker roots. A smaller planting distance results in thinner carrots.

Problems with the carrot fly are best solved with insect netting; cover soon after emergence. A simple framework/cage works best to wash out the carrot fly. The out also helps to wash the carrot fly.
